Angola Postpones E-Invoicing Mandate, Sets New Timeline

Angola's General Tax Administration (AGT) has announced a delay in the implementation of its mandatory electronic invoicing system, citing technical challenges. The rollout, originally planned for September 2025, has been rescheduled to provide a smoother transition for businesses.

New Deadlines and a Grace Period

The new go-live date for mandatory e-invoicing is now October 1, 2025.

To help businesses adapt, the AGT has also introduced a three-month transitional period, running from October 1 to December 31, 2025. During this time:

  • Businesses can continue to issue invoices in their current, non-electronic formats.
  • No penalties will be enforced for failing to issue electronic invoices.
  • The AGT will continue its process of validating and certifying e-invoicing software solutions.

The Hard Deadline: January 2026

This grace period is temporary. Beginning January 1, 2026, the mandate will come into full effect. From this date, all large taxpayers and state suppliers will be required to issue and submit compliant electronic invoices, and non-electronic formats will no longer be accepted.
